Year end Trip to Kollemcode

This vacation had no other plans than to visit my Vava, Mom and Dad. It’s been a long time since I met them. Before marriage I often travel home to visit them, but after marriage it is more of a planned journey and requires lot of synchronizations.

My Beast: Kollula

Year 2010 end was the perfect time for me and Amoolya to pay visit to my home and her relatives. This time we planned things early, made the purchases weeks back and most important packed our bags even. There is a speciality this time, that I am gonna drive Kollula all the way home and I couldn’t had a perfect sleep the night before the journey out of excitement. Though I travelled home with him earlier twice, this is the first time we are going alone. After some initial confusion Ammu’s cousin Arun joined us for the travel. We started early in the morning (7.00 o clock… It’s early for me people). While on roads I could see our country really getting progressed. Entire highway till my hometown was just amazing and it is exactly of international standard. Lanes are properly laid, street lights... Trust me I reached “160” km/hr during the travel. I had to watch butterflies committing suicide hitting against my speeding beast “Kollula – The Great” . We reached home exactly in 8 hours (675 Kms) and additional 2 hours for lunch and snacks break. This can never be dreamed even a year ago. Whole vacation was chartered with several trips and visit, but as usual time crunch we had to cut short several outings. But one unforgettable trip was to Poovar, the unexplored tip of Kerala. I will tell you about that in the next post
