In this video I have tried to portray various ceremonies conducted as part of this funtion. Due to some health issues I was not able to cover all those in this video.. but entire Thookam is captured and is presented here.

Thookam festival is for ten days. The celebrations starts with both the Devi's coming from Old temple to new temple as a procession, which includes panchavadyam, tharapoli, muthukuda and various other typical kerala art forms. Once both the Godess reaches new temple, the temple priest hoist the royal flag announcing the beggining of the celebration.Ten days of grand celebrations begins by then.

Every day, there are lot cultural events including Keralas Art forms like Ottan thullal, Sheethankan Thullal, Chakiar koothu, Kathakali and latest Drama, Dance based Dramas and Musical Concerts.

On 7th to 9th days of the festival, various people provide offerings like Kavadi, Kuthiyottam, Thalapoli and several other poojas.

In the tenth day, The most Divine, Historical Thookam starts. In the beggining of the day, Thookakar take bath on Arabian Sea and goes for their preparation for Thookam. Mean while Both Godess moves out to a specially created arena called "Pacha Panthal". Four people will be tied to the chariot representing the Devis for initial thookam and further four people are tied with babies in their hand and taken around the temple to complete a around. This time a total of 1309 baby thookam and 71 spare thookam.. which makes a total of 327 rounds. Thookam was started at 6.00 clock in the morning and ends by 4.40 am next day.
